What Am I Buying?

From high quality army painting to jaw-dropping display pieces you can be assured that whatever you want will achieved to the highest of standards. But if in doubt then check out our galleries on the left which contain numerous examples of our work.
How Do I Get a Quote?
First things first. Send us a list of what you would like painted. The easiest and best way to do this is through This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Send us as many details as you wish, remember the more details you include the better we can match what you want. Or you can always leave it up to our expert judgment! It's all your choice.
We will reply ASAP with an email outlining all costs. You can alter, amend, or eliminate items as you see fit. In the end, you’ll give us the OK and we'll get started.
What information should I include?
- Your Name - It's always nice to know who we're dealing with, and likewise we're not cold faceless automata.
- A brief description of what you want, standard, colour, basing, symbols etc. - Any details that will help us in both providing you with exactly what you want and at a fair price. Remember to include whether you just require the models painting, or whether you wish them to be built, converted, based, painted etc..
- A detailed model list - So we know exactly what models you want, thus allowing us to provide you with an accurate price, so there are no surprises later.
How Much Will It Cost?
Honestly we can't tell you yet. Check out our Pricing Guide for a rough idea, but until we know exactly what you want there is no way to set a fair price. So if you are interested don't hesitate to get in touch, quotes are free after all.
Optional Extras
- Assembly - You can assemble the models yourself, if so please make sure you are satisfied with them before you send them off, we are glad to do some minor touch ups but if the army is in a very poor state then we may apply a minor charge for the work. If you wish to have us do all the hard work then that's more than fine, and there will be an additional small charge for this which will be discussed with you in the initial process.
- Conversions - If you want an unique model or army that stands apart from the rest then we have the talented people more than able to achieve this. In such a case typically most clients will set a suitable budget, depending on the size of the project, to achieve this.
- Movement Trays - Most armies require movement trays, if you wish to have some made to match your army then please let us know exactly what size you require in a simple "width (ie number of models in front rank) x depth (ie number of ranks) format.
- Matching Existing Work - We are often asked if we can match or duplicate work done by other painters. We can match colour schemes. In most cases we can do an admirable job of matching work. However, we do not guarantee that if will turn out exactly the same. If you are worried about matching as closely as possible, you should send a sample - even if it's one we've painted!
Purchasing the Models
The next step is to purchase the models, and you have two options.
- Buy your own models
- Have us buy the models
If you buy your own models you will be responsible for the costs of shipping them to us. We accept models shipped directly from a retailer. If you are sending the models too us you will receive an e-mail confirming we have received them as soon as they arrive.
If you would like us to buy the models for you, there is no extra charge for this. So it is possible to just send us an email of what you want and the finished product will miraculously appear at your doorstep, just like magic!
Payment
We always require a minimum of 50% of the total cost upfront. If we are purchasing the models for you we require the cost of the models plus 50% of the commission bill upfront. This guarantees to both parties that a commitment has been made and the project will proceed as planned.
We accept payment by; Paypal, Bank Transfer, Cheque or Cash. Details will be discussed when appropriate.
Paypal is payable to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
We will e-mail you to confirm payment as soon as we see the money has gone into our account.
The whole cost must be settled before models are shipped.
Turnaround
You can expect your project to be completed in two to six weeks, large projects may take longer. That's a very good turnaround for this industry. You will be made aware of a rough finish date beforehand. If you have a deadline or need your models in time for a tournament, we will be glad to accommodate you, if possible, to the best of our ability, but please let us know beforehand!
Project Done!
When a project is complete, we will take pictures of the work and send them to you for your approval. You may reply to the email with a request for small alterations. We are willing to make these alterations or touch up minor errors. If the work meets your initial specifications yet you request major changes you may incur further costs.
In your final Paypal payment, please send instructions regarding shipping. Anything not in the notes of the final Paypal payment might be overlooked.
If models are not paid for within thirty days of completion without explanation, the models will become property of Golem Painting Studio as payment and we will try to find another buyer for them. There is usually no problem, however this protects us against doing the work for nothing.
Shipping
We will provide you with an address to ship to at the appropriate time. If you are sending the models to us it is your responsibility to get the models to us, and safely. Please put small parts into larger envelopes/containers/baggies so that they are not lost. We will repair minor damage with out complaint, and ask for the same courtesy from you.
The shipping costs for returning the models too you will be included in your quote.
Golem Painting Studio can’t be held responsible for any damage done during shipping. If your package is damaged en route that is something to take up with whomever has delivered it. Having said that we will strive to make sure the models are as safe as possible and arrive undamaged, and to repair any damage done.
If you send your models in an army transport, we will send them back in the army transport.
Liability
Golem Painting Studio is not liable for what happens with the models after you get them. You assume all risk of owning and handling the models. You agree to hold Golem Painting Studio Harmless. By using our service you are agreeing to this.
We offer no guarantee, express or implied. Any remedy is at our discretion.
Having said that, you can be sure that any problems will be followed up on. We really just want to avoid any un-reasonable-ness.
